Is anyone still around?
DeviantArt just makes me feel so sad when I hop on here. I used to post journals/polls and have conversations with so many people in the comments. I have so many memories, having met so many people on here; hundreds of people. Now none of them appear active anymore, it feels more like a graveyard than anything else. I want to keep in touch with people (because I don't like letting go) so if you are still around and you see this journal at any point, send me a message or post a comment. I'm only on here about once a month but I will reply to you. I've got Discord, we can chat on there. We could even create our own Discord group. Hey everyone, hope you've all been doing well. I'm just quickly checking in to let you all know I'll be posting more art soon. I'm drawing Lare playing on the PS5, should be done soon enough! Humanized of course, haven't drawn a pony in almost two years now, I think? Pretty sad really :( I don't even have Adobe Illustrator anymore even if I wanted to, I'd have to try drawing them in GIMP 2.10 Anyway I've been playing through the Mass Effect trilogy again, and I also pre-ordered Ratchet & Clank: A Rift Apart which I'm looking forward to playing! Hey! Firstly sorry for the lack of activity here on DeviantArt, it saddens me that I'm not anywhere near as active on here as I used to be. I'm still posting art here, and I hope to get through all these messages when I can. I've just been coping with lockdown like everyone else I suppose, mostly spend my days playing video games, watching YouTube videos, Twitch streamers, some films. I'm drawing here and there, though not as much as I'd like. I do have quite a few drawings I still need to finish and post! I might leave them until next year though, a sort of 'fresh start' to my 2021 portfolio seeing as I've only posted a few drawings in total this year, sigh. DeviantArt frustrations
Unless DeviantArt comes up with a far more intuitive website design, I really can't see myself spending anymore time here. I've got thousands of notifications yet unlike original DeviantArt, I've no way of removing them all. I'd spend an hour at least slowly deleting messages, because there's no mass-select option. Maybe it's my own fault for following so many artists? That can't be a bad thing though, it shouldn't cripple my ability to easily browse through my messages. I'm so frustrated every time I come on here. I watched religiously up until season 4, at which point it started to deteriorate. I watched all of S4 then started to fall out a few episodes in to S5. Since then I completely fell out of the fandom, heck, I don't even identify as a brony anymore. I've seen some of the new episodes and they're terrible.
I now have a bit more of an un-biased opinion of MLP, looking back on S1-2 I can see the "girly" or "childish" side of it a bit more clearly but I still find myself enamored by the earlier seasons (especially S2). The characters and episodes give me a great nostalgic feeling and I can remember watching all of them for the first time. I remember how I felt about MLP thanks to G3, then my older sister showed me FIM and I feigned hatred but soon was totally engrossed.
Alas, times change.
So don't worry. You aren't the only one that finds them less entertaining.
